Hitting the Tops

I recently found an exposed rolled of film and had no idea where it came from so I got it developed , scanned , and these were the favs from the batch. They were taken in the beginning in of the summer at a birthday party. It was dark so I'm pretty happy at how the negatives came out.

Rotary Dial

These shots are some of my favorites that I have recently taken with my new "toy" camera that I had purchased a while ago. While the focusing is extremely difficult to master (because distancing yourself exactly the right length is the only way to focus), the shots that do come out in focus ; however, provide some pretty unpredictably amazing pictures!!!I was pretty happy with what I got.

On some other side.

When I had heard that I was going to Portugal this year to visit my family I felt a little discouraged. I know anyone who reads this will think," free trip to Portugal!, what's there to be upset about?" Well due to the fact that the sole role of the trip was to spend time with my family, the trip was destined to be as miserable as the last. Every trip brings boredom, due to lack of television, nightlife, alcohol, and absolutely zero company from people my age. This trip however was going to be different. Thanks to carefuly preperations., i.e my camera , laptop, and a careful selection of dvds, my boredom was bound to be reduced a hundred fold. Prepared for the worse I was at ease when I landed in Lisbon. After the hour ride to my house in the small town of Meirga, I noticed something I have never noticed the many times I had visited prior to this trip. Maybe it was the result of my still developing maturity or maybe a new sense of beauty that I have perhaps attained since the last few times I've been to portugal, but nonetheless something was new.Something seemed different. With an new found exitement, I explored the small houses on my block, and the few blocks past my house. After a short time I realized how amazing the houses structure and asthetic were. Every house was different and yet strangely familiar, all complimenting the other. Each row of houses seemed to have it's own charm, it's own exquisit character. While still being modest each wall, each brick, each tiny crevice seemed to scream to me. So I did what any person in my situation would have done. I took a picture. And then a second, then a third. I had been there only a few moments and already my finger was growing tired. The sound of the shutter was beginning to compose a melody that only I could hear, and it was by far the most satisfying sound my ear could have ever dreamed of. Unfortunatley, my parents felt the urge to do the usual tour of the surrounding cities , so my first symphony was cut short and my enjoyment short lived. These are my favorite.

Danny and Jenn

This past friday I did a shoot with my friends Jenn and Danny. The story for the shoot was Jenn, kidnapped by danny, gradualy falls in love with her captor and ultimately becomes a criminal alongside Danny(this is loosely based on the Stockholm Syndrome). The shoot was done on danny's roof. I wanted a relavtively classy look for the shoot so I used Rag and Bone's fall collection to dress Danny and Jenn. Here are the pictures.

Overall i was pleased with the way the shoot turned out. The day was beautiful , and rediculously hot, but we pulled through.
Special thanks to Thomas for letting me pull from Den.
